Claude Franklin Davis

Claude Franklin Davis, 73, of Coolville, passed away January 11th, 2005 at
his residence. He was born January 4th, 1932 in Stewart, Ohio the son of
the late Benson and Martha Vaness Davis. He was married to Betty Tippie
Davis for 42 years. She survives.

Claude was retired from the Army after 22 years of service to his country,
and early in his enlistment, was a member of the Navy. He was a veteran of
the Korean and Vietnam Wars, was a lifetime member of AMVETS and the VFW,
loved fishing, and was a devoted grandpa, loving husband and father

He is survived by two sons, Bill Tippie and Bob Tippie of Coolville, two
grandchildren, Aaron and Courtney Tippie of Nelsonville, two brothers, Bob
Davis of Columbus and Jim Davis of Athens, one sister, Vickie James Jarvis
of Stewart, and special friends, Gene Ruby Hill, David Gates, Gene Tara
Hill II, and Lora Burgy.

In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his brothers,
John, Price, and Tom, sisters Norma and Mary, and a Grandson, Brandon.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15th at 10:00 A.M. at
Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street Nelsonville with Pastor
Sheldon Johnson officiating. Internment will be at Stewart Cemetery.
Military rites will be performed by the Athens American Legion Post 21,
Athens V.F.W. Post 3477, and Albany V.F.W. Post 9893. Friends may call one
hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
