Charles C. Merle

Charles C. Merle, 66, of Logan, died Thursday, January 20, 2005, at his residence after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
He was born December 5, 1938, in Indiana, son of the late George C. Merle and Anna M. Waterman Glaze. He was married to Brenda S. Wright Merle of Logan.
Charles was a veteran of the United States Army and also a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Marianne John Cummings and Michelle Ted Huffman Merle; seven grandchildren, Charles, Alexander, Sean, Aaron, Courtney, Celina and Jacob; three sisters, Sue Schnarr, Patricia Schnarr and Norma Kungis; numerous family and friends.
He is preceded in death by a father-in-law, Gordon M. Wright.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m., at Cardaras Funeral Home 183 E. Second St. Logan, with Pastor Frank McKim, officiating. Interment will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Logan.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Graveside military services will be performed by the Combined Veterans of Hocking County.
