Martha Marie Barron

Martha Marie Barron, 85, of Lancaster, formerly of Haydenville, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. She was born February 1, 1928 in Buchtel, Daughter of the late William and Flora May Monk. She was married to the late James L. Barron, for 62 years.

Martha graduated from the Hocking College Nursing program and retired as a nurse from Doctors Hospital Nelsonville.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Eugene) Konkler of Lancaster and Nancy (Robert) Burgess of Gahanna; two grandchildren, Christina (Jim) Nelms and James (Megan) Konkler both of Lancaster; 4 great grandchildren, Bailey, Pehrson, Jaxson and Layla; a brother, George (Dorothy) Monk of Texas and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Wanda Barron; sister, Dorothy Patton and brothers, Gale, James, Cecil, Billy, Thomas and Sherman Monk.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Mike McGuire officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Saturday from 9-11 AM at the funeral home.
