Dwight E. Davis

Dwight E. Davis, 87, of Parma, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at Parma Hospital in Parma, Ohio. He was born April 24, 1928 in Hocking County, son of the late Harry and Lillian Schorr Davis. Dwight was married for 60 years to the late Evelyn Marie Souders Davis.

He was a retired crane operator for Hydraulic Press Brick Company in Independence, Ohio and was the President of the Independence VFW Golf League for 40 years. Dwight was a hard worker, working until age 80 and loved his farm and animals.

He is survived by his sons, Daniel (Jean) Davis of Macedonia, Roger (Helen) Davis of Hinckley, Gary (Judy) Davis of Medina and Alan Davis of Parma; daughters, Sherrie (Jarrett) Spears of Strongsville, Lynn Davis of Parma and Laurie (David) Vale of Garfield Heights; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and a brother, Loren Davis of Springfield.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dwight was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl and Carl Davis and sister, Helen Davis.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2015 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. James Mathias officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
