Dewey Gene Newman

Dewey Gene Newman, 72, of McArthur, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 at his residence. He was born June 20, 1944 in Vinton County, son of the late Kennel and Anna Lee McKenzie Newman. Dewey was married to Panola “Pat” Phillips Newman, who survives.

He was a retired Union Iron Worker and a Vietnam Army Veteran.

In addition to his wife, Dewey is survived by his sons, Shane (Peggy) Newman and Kevin Newman, both of McArthur; daughter, Shermane VanArsdol of Wyoming; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers, Howard (Beverly) Newman of McArthur, Clayton (Pat) Newman of McArthur and Joe Newman of Hamden and sisters, Linda (John) Collins and Carolyn Brown, both of McArthur.

There will be no services. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
