Amos L. Bailey, 74, of Coolville, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at his home. Amos was born on August 16, 1950, in Nelsonville, to the late Donald L. and Charlotte (Dowler) Bailey. He was married to Brenda (Lee) Bailey, who survives.
Amos was lovingly called “Uncle Moose” by his family, who he adored. He served in the U.S. Army and Marines during the Vietnam War. Amos worked for many years as a truck driver at Woody’s Towing in Columbus and was a member of Savannah Masonic Lodge #466.
Amos is survived by his wife, Brenda; children, Betsy (John) Bennett of Mechanicsburg, Amos W. “Bub” Bailey of London, Ohio, Lydia (Jess) Gregory of London, and Rachel (Jerry) Brown of Williamsport; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Ray (Mary) Bailey of Athens, Marty (Jodi) Bailey of Guysville, and Timothy Bailey; and best friends, Betty, Gary, and Carla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patty Cheeseman and Mary Lou Bennett; infant sister, Clara Louise Bailey; daughter, Meggin Tripp; and grandson, Matthew Gregory.
The family would like to thank Shrivers Hospice for their loving care of Amos.
No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are through the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville.
