Bertell "Bert" Cordle

Bertell "Bert" Cordle, 84, of Stoutsville, Ohio, formerly of Rockbridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 22, 2026. He was a believer in our savior,  Jesus Christ, and is running through the meadows of Heaven with his parents and siblings. He was born on March 31, 1942, in Cherokee, Kentucky, son of the late Monroe and Cynthia (Ross) Cordle

Bert was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ernest Cordle, Russell Cordle, Zella Carter, Ella Cook, Neva Walker, Rosemary DeVillers, Ronald Cordle, and Ruby Price; great grandson, Bobby Smith; and mother and father in-law, Bernard and Ida Adams.

Survived by his devoted and loving wife of 58 years, Lois; sons, Terry (Kelly) Cordle and Michael (Heidi) Cordle; daughter, Sherry (Cary) Taylor; grandchildren, Ryan, Kayla, Robert, Amber, Cary Dean, Dalton, and Lane; 15 great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Bert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, telling jokes, and spending time with his friends and family, especially with his great grandchildren. Bert served in the US Army, during the Vietnam War, from 1965 to 1967 for which he received numerous awards. He retired from the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local Union 189 and was a proud member for 57 years. He will be greatly missed by all who ever met him.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E Second St, Logan, with Pastor Tim Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Knollwood Cemetery, Logan, with military honors by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
