Betty Alice Cook

Betty Alice Cook, 85, of Nelsonville, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on March 21, 1941, in Aurora, Indiana, to the late Warren A. and Maybelle K. (Glab) Robinette.

Betty enjoyed the simple pleasures and found great joy in the little things life had to offer. She loved sitting on the front porch swing, watching the birds, and enjoying her flowers. Her smile warmed everyone’s heart; in fact, you could feel her smile even over the phone. She was a devoted mother to her four boys and would move mountains to be with them or help them. Betty had unconditional love for her pets, especially her dachshunds and her last pet, Kitty. She enjoyed cooking and the family had a standing request during the holidays for Mom’s homemade noodles.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her sons: Stephen (Cathy) Pedigo of Hampton, Virginia; Chet (Shelley) Cook of Dexter, Michigan; and Ben (Holly) Cook of Pataskala, Ohio. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Michelle Mason Pedigo of Waynesboro, Virginia; her cherished grandchildren: Mary, Will, Sarah, Jacob, Gabriel, Lukas, Ben, and Owen; her great-grandchildren: Rhett, Olivia, Dax, Fynn, Sloane, Ramsey, Layne, Colt, Malikai, and Ripley; her brother, Curtis (Joy) Robinette; and her sister, Jean (Scott) Dittmyer.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son Brian Pedigo, and her brother Jerry (Shirley) Robinette.

In accordance with Betty’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street, Nelsonville, with Pastor Andy Stine officiating. Family and friends may visit from 12:00 PM till the time of service.
