Betty Laverne Trowbridge

Betty L. Trowbridge, 100, of Thornville, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. She was born on March 9, 1925, in Longstreth, the daughter of the late William and Mable (Brooker) Justice. She was the widow of the late William Trowbridge.

Betty was a graduate of Carbon Hill High School. Betty loved shopping and she also loved gambling, especially slot machines.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Judith Irvin of Thornville; grandchildren, Stacy (Rob) Pierce of St. George Island, Florida and Kyle (Kimberly) Mathews of Thornville; great grandchildren, Megan (Dave Jones) Mathews of Columbus, Alexandra Mathews of Lancaster, and Blake Pierce of Columbus; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Trowbridge of Indian Lake, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael Trowbridge; and siblings, Iva Mae Winingman, Albert Justice, Ira Justice, and Mary Jane Stover.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville, with Rev. John Williams officiating. Interment will be Carbon Hill Cemetery, Carbon Hill. Friends may visit from 12 to 2 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
