Bill Marcum, 82, of Allensville, passed away on April 22, 2026.
Born on February 6, 1944, in Crum, West Virginia, Bill’s life was a testament to hard work, perseverance, and heart. From humble beginnings, he built a life defined by determination, becoming a successful business owner of Fujiyama’s Restaurant. His journey was one he often shared, reminiscing about the past and the path that shaped him.
Bill was a man who never met a stranger. He was known for his storytelling, his quick jokes, and his deep love of football. He found joy in the simple things—working on his tractor, taking rides down back roads, and sitting around a table playing cards with family and friends. Above all, he was generous to a fault, always willing to give whatever he could to those he loved.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who put his family above all else. His love was steady, his presence strong, and his sense of humor unforgettable.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; his daughters, Lisa (Matt) and Renae (Amy); his granddaughters, Chelsea (Kyle) and Morgan (Andrew); his great-grandchildren, Khloe and Braycen; and daughter-in-law, Leizel. He is also survived by his twin brother, Bob, and his sisters, Betty, Delores, and Helen.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott; his parents, Bernice and Howard; and his brothers, Joe, June, and Ralph.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 West High St., McArthur, Ohio 45651, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Burial to follow at Mount Olive Cemetery, Mount Olive Rd., Allensville, Ohio. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Bill will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the life he built, the stories he told, and the love he gave so freely. His stories will live on around every table where laughter is shared.
