Carl Edward Seymour

Carl Edward Seymour, 82, of McArthur, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Maple Hills Nursing Home in McArthur. He was born on December 6, 1943, in Ross County, the son of the late Carl and Dana (Woltz) Seymour. He was married to Patricia (Sexton) Seymour, who survives.

Carl retired from the Ohio Turnpike Commission after 33 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially when everyone was able to be together. With his free time after retirement, Carl dabbled in several hobbies, such as woodworking, but could also frequently be found hanging out with his friends.

Carl Is survived by the love of his life, Patricia; son, David Seymour; daughter, Pam Seymour; stepdaughter, Katrina (Mike) Sexton Pinson; grandchildren, Danielle (John) Karaplis, Devin Seymour, Christina (Steve Ball) Melton, Robert “Little Bob” Melton II, Linda (John) Seymour Velez; step-grandchildren, Jamie Nichols and Andrew (Crystal) Nichols; great-grandchildren, Logan Karaplis, Jacob Ball, Nathan Ball, Bryson Ball, Kamron Saunders, Jayden Rodriguez; step-great grandchildren, Jade Nichols, Jayla Nichols, Hannah Altar, and Kalob Nichols; and brother, Herold Seymour.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dana; sisters, Kathryn Wilson, Kathleen Hawk, and Stella Lafferty; brother, John Seymour; and daughter-in-law, Denise Antoinette Seymour.

Cremation will take place and Carl’s ashes will be buried at a later date at Log Pile Cemetery, Vinton County. Arrangements are by Garrett Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St, McArthur.
