McArthur

Carl W. Williams Jr., 72, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus from complications of pneumonia and kidney disease. He was born August 15, 1953, in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Carl W. and Anna Lou Peck William Sr. Carl was married for 55 years to Toni Ellen Brown Williams, who survives.

Carl was a self-employed truck driver and was very proud of the fact he worked for 54 years and 2 months before he retired. He was one of the hardest working men who ever lived, his life was defined by determination and commitment to those he loved. He instilled the importance of dedicated and faithful work ethics in every one of his children and many others. Self-made and self-reliant, Carl believed that success was earned through perseverance and willingness to do whatever was necessary to provide for his family. He lived for his wife and children and to be the best provider for all. Carl took great pride in the many roles he was blessed to hold; son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, businessman and friend.

Most of his early life was focused on building a safety net for his family, the later years were more relaxed, taking time to spend with his family. Sunday dinners became a cherished tradition, gathering as much of the family together for laughter, games and love. Carl faced many challenges in his last years and leaves behind a legacy of accomplishment, resilience and devotion. Carl was adored, loved and respected by his wife, children, grandchildren and family. He leaves behind an example of a life well lived and a reminder that true success is found in the love, support and memories we share with those we hold dear.

Carl had many words of wisdom that he loved to pass onto his grandchildren; a fool and his money are soon parted, the man with the gold makes the rules, just because there’s smoke on the top doesn’t mean the fire is out, you can’t fox a fox, there’s more than one way to skin a cat and sometimes you get backed into a corner, better come out fists first, are a few of his favorites.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his first grandson, Kyle Brandon Colley “The Hawk”, they are now in heaven together.

Along with his wife Toni, he is survived by his children, Carl (Andrea) Williams III, Jason (Steph) Williams, Natasha (Clay Tigner) Colley and Doug (Megan) Williams and grandchildren, Emma “Emmy Lou”, Lacie “Big Willy”, Brod “Broc-o-lie”, Kody “Kodbuster”, Bailee “Bay Bay Jo Jo”, Lakin “Little Willy” and Brody “Brodman”.

Per Carl’s wishes, no calling hours will be observed. Private services will be held at a later date with burial in Elk Cemetery, McArthur.
