Christopher Ray Reedy, age 68, of McArthur, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born October 11, 1956, in McArthur, Ohio, son of the late Eldon Ray Reedy and his beloved mother Jacquelyn Sue Reedy.
Chris was a 1976 graduate of Vinton County High School. Chris was the biggest Beatles fan. He loved football, especially any team with Tom Brady; and was a huge follower of NASCAR and racing. A highlight of his younger years was racing sprint cars at Atomic Speedway alongside his uncle, the late Chuck Brown. After his racing career, Chris was always known for his riding lawnmower and neatly manicured lawns, as well as taking the Vinton County roads at racing speeds. Chris loved his family immensely and took great joy in celebrating and sharing in his daughters’ and grandchildren’s milestones, successes, and fun photos and videos. He was their biggest fan.
Chris is survived by his children, Amy Reedy of Columbus, Tracy Slavik and husband Robert of Orlando, Devon Morales and husband Dión of Chicago, and Kristen Goode of Chillicothe; beloved grandchildren Gabriel, Kalia, Arwen, Acelynn, Gianna, and Elara; treasured aunt Marsha Brown and cousin, Lisa Cull; special friend Beatle Ward; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In keeping with Chris’ wishes, there will be no calling hours. Graveside service will be held Sunday, August 3 at 11 a.m. at Elk Cemetery in McArthur with son-in-law Dión Morales leading the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Garrett Cardaras Funeral Home in McArthur.
