David R. Gibbs III

David R. Gibbs passed away on December 22, 2025, following a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife, Lorelei, of 54 years; his daughter, Cathryn Jurecki (Russell); his son, Seth Gibbs (Megan); 8 grandchildren, Camden Gibbs (Ethan), Ben Jurecki, Hunter Gibbs, Alexandria Jurecki, Andralyn Jurecki, Chase Gibbs, Cohen Carpenter and Maleia Carpenter; and his sisters, Ann Gibbs and Sharron Lewis (William) of Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Dave was a graduate of Pennsylvania State with a law degree from The University of Akron. He was employed for 45 years with Babcock and Wilcox and its subsidiary Diamond Power. He began his work repairing boilers and retired at Diamond Power head of Marketing and Acquisitions. His work took him all over the world: Asia, Europe, Australia, Russia, Brazil and much of the United States.

He loved traveling and his time at Olivedale playing bridge and ping pong. The Browns and Cavaliers were his go-to teams.

In remembrance of donations may be made to the Lancaster Festival and Fairhope (Pickering House).
