Dolores "Dolly" Jean Cozart

Dolores Jean “Dolly” Cozart, 70, of Nelsonville, unexpectedly passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at OhioHealth O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio. She was born June 4, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Robert Maywood and Dolores Marie Bien Cozart.

Dolly graduated from Brookhaven High School, class of 1974 and The Ohio State University in 1993, Magnum Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. She has been fully occupied by her love of birds, animals, gardening, arts and staying active in the Athens Community Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Cozart.

Dolly is survived by her brother, Bob Cozart; niece, Jocelyn Cozart and lifelong partner, Bob Dickas.

Dolly will be greatly missed by many loving friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
