Donald Lee Toole, 86, of Ray, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born June 1, 1939, in Ashville, Ohio, son of the late William and Ina May Dumm Toole. Don was married to the late Vivian Jean Kuhn Toole.
Don retired from Hamner Roofing, was a member of the Lost and Found Worship Center in McArthur and was a United States Army Veteran. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. His greatest joy was getting in his car to make the rounds, stopping by to visit his family and check on those he loved. His family will always be thankful for the thoughtful neighbors who offered their help and kindness along the way.
Don is survived by his daughters, Debra (Rick Fout) Johnston, Rebecca Wallace and Patty (Rob) Smith, grandchildren, Bradley (Kaitlyn) Toole, Nathan Wallace and Brittany Smith; great grandchildren, Jason Smith, Vivian Toole, Josie Brown and Nylah the dog; brother, Douglas Toole; sisters, Esther Durrent and Becky Toole; special friends, Rosie and Tim Nichols, Jimmy Gregg, Stephy Ward and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and special neighbors.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Marie Toole; son-in-law, Ned Wallace; one sister and several brothers.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Log Pile Church, 56039 Log Pile Road, Ray, Ohio, with Rev. Jim McFadden officiating. Interment will be in Log Pile Church Cemetery, with military graveside services being conducted by the United States Army. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
