Edward "Buck" Ray Cunningham

Edward “Buck” Ray Cunningham, 77, of Nelsonville, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 6, 2026. He was born on February 10, 1949, in Doanville, the son of the late Pearly and Loretta (Maffin) Cunningham. Buck was married for 42 years to Lola (Elder) Cunningham who survives.

Buck was a great husband, father, and grandfather. Together with Lola, they raised many children over the years, in addition to their own children. Buck loved fishing, working on anything with a motor, and dancing.

Buck is survived by his wife, Lola; sons, John (Beth) Cunningham, Jake (Amanda) Jones, John Jones, and Bill Jones; daughters, Annie Caudy, Leona (Chris) Skinner, and Tara (Andy) Spencer; 31 grandchildren; 38, great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; brother, Buzzy (Suzie) Cunningham; sisters, Bonnie Berry, Tina Varner, and Mary Jo (Andy) Allen; and special friend, Bill Spencer.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents; 3 grandchildren; sisters, Pearl McGrath, Shirley Snider, and Chick Cunningham; brothers, Pearly Jr, Leroy, Thomas, and Carl Cunningham; and special friends, Buddy Cunningham and Butch Barnhart.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the Souers Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville, with Pastor Tim Kelly officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Family and friends may visit from 5 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
