Elizabeth Ann Faris

Elizabeth “Ann” Faris, 97, of McArthur, passed away at her home on Saturday, October 31, 2026. She was born on May 9, 1929, in Trenton, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Walter R. and Dorothy (DePoy) Voght. Ann was married to the late Frank E. Faris.

Ann was a retired home economics teacher for Vinton County Schools. Ann was also an avid quilter.

Ann is survived by her children, Tom Faris, JoAnn Tahyi, Dawn (Alden Jr.) Acord, Beth Rottell, Clint Faris, Ed ((Beth) Faris, Doug (Becky) Faris, and Kelly (Ernie) Abercrombie; grandchildren, Lance, Tom Jr. “OB”, Brice, Jill, Clay, Allan, Carl, Scott, Frank R., Kay, James, Hope, Paige, Emily, Frank F., Dorothy, Mark, Ernie Jr., Tonia, Ken, and Ryan; 37 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; brother, Dan (Jody) Voght; sisters, Martha Voght, Sue Reeves, and Jody Tejan; and many nieces and nephews.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Dorothy; husband, Frank; grandson, Huck Faris; brother, Walter Voght Jr.; sons-in-law, Chris Tahyi, Chuck Rottell, and Carl Gaffin; and daughter-in-law, Loretta Faris.

Family and friends may visit from 4 to 7 PM, on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at the Garrett Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of donor’s choice, in memory of Ann.
