Gale Eugene Strawn

Gale Eugene Strawn, 86, of New Straitsville, passed away at his home on Monday, May 4, 2026. He was born on October 5, 1939, in Junction City, the son of the late Maxine Householder. He was married for 36 years to the late Constance “Connie” Sue (Dunn) Strawn.

Gale was a lifelong coal miner, working for Star Mining and retiring from Buckingham Coal as an equipment operator. Gale enjoyed auctions, mushroom hunting, and deer hunting. He loved spending time with family and family get togethers.

Gale is survived by his daughters, Melinda (Bill) Hampton and Brenda (Von) Crabtree; grandchildren, Dustin Harden, Dylan (Brittany McClellan) Crabtree, Kayla (Tanner Emerson) Dennis, and Ben Hampton; and great grandchildren, Aubrey Harden, Rhylee Dennis, Maddie Dennis, Kamden Cox, Emmalee Hampton, and Kynlee McClellan.

Gale was preceded in death by his mom, Maxine; wife, Connie; and grandparents, Harvey and Vicie Householder.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan, with Pastor Steve Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery, Junction City. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
