Jerry B. Dishong

Garold Burton “Jerry” Dishong, 70, of Nelsonville, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at O’Bleness Hospital in Athens. Jerry was born on September 1, 1954, in Nelsonville, the son of the late Harold and Mary (Hatfield) Dishong. He was married to Melanie (Rose) Dishong, who survives.

Jerry served in the United States Marine Corps and worked as a mason for many years. He enjoyed spending time playing in his garden and dirt track racing.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Melanie; sons, Jerry “Little Jerry” Dishong, Ben (Ashlee) Dishong, and Jon Dishong; grandchildren, Wyatt, Daniel, Kaleb, and Jerica Dishong; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bob” Earl Dishong, and sisters, Tamela Lanning and Pamela Washburn.

No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are with the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville.
