Gilbert L Messer

Gilbert L Messer.64, of Logan, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born May 31, 1962, in Logan, West Virginia, to the late Gilbert Messer and Evon (Brewer) Messer.

Gilbert enjoyed hunting and fishing. Loved being outdoors. But when it came to watching television and his way of thinking, the old movies were the best. Above all, spending time with family and friends is what was most important to him.

He leaves behind a sister, Betty (Paul) Stafford of Logan; three brothers, Ked (Gail) Messer, of Dingess, West Virginia, Bryant Messer of Wayne, West Virginia and Alvin Messer of Gahanna; and 4 special nieces, Evonna Hartshorn, Rolonda Lavely, Joni Byers and Misty Vance.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Ethel Messer.

Gilbert’s wishes were for cremation and no services will be held at this time. Arrangements are with Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 East Second Street, Logan.
