Harley David Adkins Sr., 78, of New Straitsville, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 18, 2026, surrounded by family. Harley was born on September 28, 1947, in Winifrede, West Virginia, the son of the late Ray and Bernadine (Smith) Adkins. He is reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, the late Christine (Dickens) Adkins.
Harley was U.S. Army veteran. He loved music, especially playing his guitar. When he wasn’t spending time with friends and family, he also enjoyed fishing and working on cars.
Harley is survived by his son, Harley David (Gina) Adkins Jr. of New Straitsville; daughters, Margaret (Mark) Moore of Corning and Cindy Gordon of New Straitsville; grandchildren, Anthony, David, Christina, Andrew “Andy”, Jimmy Lee, Megan, Jonathan, and Corey; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Adrian, Owen, Grayson, Jayden, Allison, Bralyn, Karsen, Damien, Lottie Jo, Leiland, Lenora, Jordan, Jaze, Hunter, Alizabeth, Rayne, and Madison; and sister, Martha Kay Adkins of West Virginia.
Harley was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Herbert “Herbie” Ray Adkins.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. 2nd St., Logan, with Harley’s nephew, Jeremy Butcher, officiating. Friends and family may visit from 5 pm to 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the services.
