Jeremy Lee Johnson, 48, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, doing what he loved — driving his semi.
Jeremy was a proud graduate of Nelsonville-York High School and the Tri-County Career Center. He was the son of the late Richard Johnson and is survived by his loving wife, Rita Johnson, his mother, Cindy Johnson, and his children Kyle Johnson (Destiny), Jordan Nicholson, Merishika (Shane) Bays, Ethan Nicholson (Kaitlynn), and Riley Cook. He is also survived by his siblings Ann Marie (Scott) Clayton of Bellefontaine, Tessie (Andrew) Lyons of Circleville, and David (Jackie) Johnson of Amesville, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jeremy was a proud Papaw to three grandchildren — Paislee, Landon, and Addalynn — who brought endless joy to his life.
Jeremy worked for many years as a Class A CDL driver, known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of work, he loved spending time outdoors, going to local fairs, and working on his derby car — a passion that showed his love for mechanics and friendly competition. He also enjoyed rebuilding cars with his son Kyle, sharing countless hours in the garage and a bond built on hard work and laughter. Above all, his greatest joy came from being with his family and making memories with his grandkids.
Jeremy will be remembered for his big heart, easy smile, and the way he could make anyone laugh. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Souers Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville, with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Family and friends may visit from 5 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
