Jerry Joe Oiler

Jerry Joe Oiler, 83, of McArthur, passed away on Tuesday, May 20,2025, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. Jerry was born on September 7, 1941, in Nelsonville. Jerry was married to Judith (Doyle) Oiler who survives.

Jerry was a Nelsonville High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Jerry worked many years for the Nelsonville York School District in maintenance and was the driver of bus 42. He was also a member of St. Slyvester Catholic Church, Zaleski.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Judith; children, Tony (Dorian) Oiler of Newark, Therese (Tim) Thompson of Franklin, West Virginia, Tim (Kathie Stokes) Oiler of New Marshfield, and Jon (Frances) Oiler of Peebles; several grand children and great grandchildren; and sisters, Susan Thornton and Christy (Steve) Barstow.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Betty (Les) Reinschell; brother, Jim Reinschell; and grandparents who raised him, Oria and Mary North.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville, with Father Thomas Herge officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may visit from 12 to 2 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
