John Nicholas Funk

John Nicholas Funk, 87, of Logan, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born November 5, 1938, in Hocking County, Ohio, son of the late Joe and Ruth Bowers Funk. John was married for 46 years to Margie E. Jackson Funk, who survives.

John retired from Columbus Gas of Ohio after 37 years, was a proud United States Army Veteran and was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Logan.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his sister, Betty Remple; 7 children; many grandchildren and 3 nieces.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Rudolph “Buzz” Remple.

John’s wishes were to be cremated with no visitation or services. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
