John Andrew Kearns

John Andrew Kearns, 74, of Logan, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 7, 2026. John was born on November 7,1951, in Columbus, the son of the late William “Bill” James and Leta Jane (Robertson) Kearns.

John served as an M.P. in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a prison guard in Nelsonville. His biggest joy was farming, and he continued until he was no longer able.

John is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Pearl Kearns of Nelsonville; nieces and nephew, Brian, Kimberly, Michelle, and Sheila; and several great nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William A. Kearns; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

No services will be held at this time. Burial will take place in New Fairview Memory Gardens, Rockbridge. Arrangements are with the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan, Ohio 43138.
