John P. Waldron, 68, of McArthur, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at his residence. He was born August 23, 1954, in Wellston, son of the late Oather C. and Eleanor R. Baker Waldron.
John retired from Waldron Lumber Company and was the author of the book, God’s Logo. He was a member of Shepherds Chapel Church and enjoyed working on the farm with his brother.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Waldron of Hamden, Mary Pittman of Zanesville and Daisy Albright of Zanesville; stepson, Conrad Harris of Jackson; grandchildren, Erika and Emily McCollum and Colton Thompson; brothers, Donald (Barbara) Waldron of McArthur and George (Karen) Waldron of Dover; sisters, Rhea Dessecker of Canton and Phyllis (Harold) Harkless of Columbus and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Jerrod Waldron.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Corbet Waldron; brothers, Joseph and Darrell Waldron and sisters, Arvella Delaney and Martha Perry.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, May 4, 2023, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Danny Minton officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
