Julie Diane Kelley

June 9, 1963 — December 1, 2025

Nelsonville

Julie Diane Kelley, 62, of Nelsonville, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Athens. Julie was born on June 9, 1963, in Wood County, West Virginia, the daughter of Susan (Clouse) Brown and the late James G. Brown.

Julie was the kindest, most loving person. She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and worked for a time at the Wood County Courthouse and for her dad at his car dealership. Julie had an incredible memory; it was never a surprise if she knew all the answers when watching Jeopardy. Julie also loved animals. She enjoyed fishing and taught her nieces how to fish, too. She especially loved her dog, Flurry, whose name is a tribute to how much she adored the winter snow. Julie was loved by so many people, and she will be missed deeply.

Julie is survived by her mother, Susan of Nelsonville; brothers, Todd (Traci) Brown of Lakeview and Eric (Steve) Brown of Denver, Colorado; sister, Elizabeth (Jim) Boskar of Texas; stepmother, Judy Brown of Texas; special cousin, Tracy Litman of Reedsville; two nieces; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Julie was preceded in death by her father, Jim, and brother, Mike Brown.

No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are with the Souers Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville.

Donations may be made in memory of Julie to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Athens County Dog Shelter, both organizations that Julie passionately supported.
