Karen Ann Smith

Karen Ann Smith, 53, of McArthur, passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Karen was born on December 13, 1972, in Marietta, the daughter of the late Tommy Smith Jr. and Linda (Stevens) Smith. Karen grew up and spent most of her life in St. Mary’s, West Virginia.

Karen loved keeping busy with cross-stitch, refinishing furniture, making her own woodwork, wood burning, and gardening. She was a collector of knickknacks and liked going to parks and being out in nature. She was an excellent billiards player and previously was the top woman in the state of Idaho. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her son, Lance. Lance was her rock and she affectionately called him her “Boo Baby”. After he married Timothy Smith, she loved spending holidays and playing games with them. She enjoyed any time spent with her family.

Karen is survived by her sons, Lance (Timothy Smith) Bennett and Codey (Gracie) Bennett; daughter, Deviney Bennett; grandchildren, Jagir Wayne Bennett, Rowan Lane Bennett, Winsley Willow O’Neal-Palavicini, Khloebelle Ann Merlette O’Neal-Palavicini; sister, Brenda Wolfe; and brother, Tom Smith.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Mark Cole Bennett; and grandmother, Edna Evelyn Smith.

No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are with the Garrett Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St, McArthur.
