Linda Sue Vaughn, 79, of Canal Winchester, formerly of Lancaster and Logan, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
She is survived by her children, Cindy (Darryl) Vaughn Sims of Canal Winchester and Kathy (David Carpenter) Vaughn of Jackson, Wyoming, stepdaughters, Deanna Vaughn of Columbus, Susan Vaughn of Lancaster and Michelle (John) Morris of Homosassa, Florida. She was the loving grandmother of Joseph Dean Morehead, Danielle Marie (Nick) Huhn and several step grandchildren. She was the proud great grandmother of Ezra Dane Morehead and several step great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Ken (Nancy) Adair of Grayling, Michigan and her step son-in-law, Jim Puchan of Galena.
Linda was born and raised in Logan, Ohio, the daughter of the late Wilson Kenneth and Helen Mae (Erwin) Adair, sister of Sally (Francis) Schrader and also stepmother to Janice Puchan. Linda graduated from Logan High School in 1961. She married H. Dean Vaughn in 1963, and they enjoyed 57 years together living in Logan and Lancaster as they raised their family. Together with her husband, Linda owned and operated Vauncrete Inc. and later she was the General Manager of the Best Western hotel in Lancaster. Linda volunteered her time teaching Sunday school and leading Girl Scout Troops. She was a member of the former Immanuel United Methodist Church in Logan and more recently a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Canal Winchester. Linda was a 60-year member of Sigma Phi Gamma service sorority and a founding member of the Mu Beta Chapter. She enjoyed gardening, photography and travel, especially to Wyoming to visit her daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2023, in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan with her cousin Rev. Dan Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Her sorority sisters will perform a Zeta service for Linda at the end of calling hours on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Linda’s honor to Capital City Hospice, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr. Suite 170, Columbus, Ohio 43231.
