Lois I. Adelmann, 81, of McArthur, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020 at her residence. She was born September 7, 1938 in Vinton County, daughter of the late Sylvester O. and Marie Reynolds Penrod. Lois was the widow of the late Wayne Adelmann.
Lois was a former switchboard operator for Ohio Bell and worked for Huston’s Nursing Home in Hamden. She was a member of the McArthur United Methodist Church and the McArthur Eagles AERIE #2279 Ladies Auxiliary. Lois enjoyed reading and bowling.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Dody) Prater, Dustin “Dusty” (Ginger Queen) Prater Sr. and Grant (Regina) Prater, all of McArthur; daughters, Janette (Paul Baughman) Clifford, Dori (Jerry) Buckler and Ella (Keith) Prater, all of McArthur; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by her great grandson, Jared Champion and sisters, Carol Emmons and Karen Holt.
A private graveside service will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with Rev. Dr. Walt Goble officiating. No visitation will be held.
Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
