Lonnie Vance Doles, 41, of Londonderry, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born December 24, 1978 in Chillicothe, son of Lonnie Ray and Lou-Anne Clary Doles of Ray. Lonnie was married for 16 years to Rebecca “Becky” Jean Wells Doles, who survives.
He was a machine operator for LMP Machine Shop in Zaleski and formerly worked at Kenworth in Chillicothe and FPE in Circleville. As a youth, he attended Corinth Christian Church in Ray and the Welcome Chapel in Ray. Lonnie enjoyed shooting sports and was a member of the NRA and Gun Owners of America. He loved American and World History.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his stepdaughter, Stephanie (Sean) Groce of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Cory and Cameron Groce; sisters, Wendy (Jason) White of Coalton and Bridget (Michael) Boggs of Ray; paternal grandmother, Marcella Doles of Ray and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including his special lifelong friend, Kevin Mango of Jackson
Lonnie was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lloyd Vance Doles and his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Betty Clary.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, March 23, 2020 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Keith Clary and Pastor Roy Truman officiating. Interment will be in the Doles Family Cemetery, Ray, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 6-8 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Lonnie Doles to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
