Mary Sue Darnell

Mary Sue Darnell, 86, of Logan, passed away at her home on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Sue was born on July 28, 1939, in Carbon Hill, Alabama, the daughter of the late Claudie and Katie (Self) Keeton. She was married for 61 years to the late Larry Kenneth Darnell.

Sue was a member of the First Baptist Church of Logan. Sue worked at the Logan Theater in the late 1950’s in the ticket booth and concession stand, where she met her husband, “her one and only”, as Sue would always say. Sue was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Sue is survived by her son, Larry “Frank” (Gail) Darnell; granddaughters, Michelle Darnell and Gloria Darnell; and several nieces and nephews.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Louvenie Peoples; and brother, James “J.C.” Slay.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan, Ohio, with Joel Barkhurst and Pastor Lucas Moncada III officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
