Mary Katherine Vollmer

Mary Katherine Vollmer, 95, of Haydenville, passed away at her daughter’s home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Katherine was born on December 14, 1930, in Morgantown, West Virginia, to the late Leonard Delmer and Gladys (Boatwright) Harris. She was married for 59 years to the late Donald Eugene Vollmer.

Katherine graduated from Carbon Hill High School in 1949. She retired from Brooks Shoe Company in Nelsonville. Katherine attended Ebenezer Baptist Church, Haydenville Branch.

Katherine is survived by her son, Kenneth (Nyla) Vollmer of Haydenville; daughter, Christy (Scott) Mender of Haydenville; grandchildren, Kendra (Casey) Myers, Julie (Nevada) Allen, Jeremy (Amy) Mender, Joshua (Jennifer) Mender, Ashley (Steve) Gastin, Sharon (Tim) Keith, Shannon (Bill) Lemon, and Sarah (Todd) Jordan; great grandchildren, Evan Mender, Spencer Gastin, Braxton Mender, Colson Mender, Molly Gastin, Keller Mender, Daelon Mender, Sadie Myers, Tucker Myers, Ireland Yates, Emma Allen, Andrea Allen, Chelsea (Tristen) Roley, Jennifer (Tyler Barrows) Rayburn, Sean (Ivy Goings) Rayburn, Emily (Nick) Lanning, and Matthew Keith; sisters, Rose Hubbard and Teressa (Carey) Glenn; brothers, Kenneth (Betty) Harris, James (Elizabeth) Harris, Roger Harris, Elwood Harris, Dean (Robin) Harris; and many nieces and nephews.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Elsie Jean Moore, Audrey Chute, Thelma Morgan, Phyllis Holcomb, and Sarah Eberts; and brother, Delmer Harris.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan, with Pastor Steve Hubbard officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the funeral home.
