Monica Lynn Savage, 43, of McArthur, passed away at her home on Friday, July 10, 2026. She was born on October 9, 1982, at Fort Polk, Louisiana, the daughter of Retired Army Sergeant First Class Bill Savage and Jackie Lucille (Courtney) Chambers.
Although not originally from Vinton County, Monica has considered McArthur her home since high school. She briefly moved to Lexington, OH, to be closer to family, but her heart quickly returned to McArthur. It was the many friends in the area who loved her as their own that continually drew her back.
Monica is survived by her mother, Jackie of Selma, North Carolina; her brother, Bill (Amy) Savage of Owasso, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews, two aunts, and many cousins. She was also cherished by countless friends who regarded her as a sister or another daughter.
Monica was preceded in death by her birth father, Retired Army Sergeant First Class Bill Savage; bonus Dad, Ray Wellman; and brother, Rusty Savage.
A memorial service will be held at New Hope Assembly of God, 2020 Cincinnati-Zanesville Rd SW, Lancaster, Ohio 43130, on Saturday, July 18, at 12:30 pm with Monica’s brother, Pastor Bill Savage, officiating.
Arrangements are with the Garrett Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St, McArthur.
