Peter Hastings Simonton

Peter Hastings Simonton, 48, of Nelsonville, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026. He was born on December 5, 1977, in Logan, the son of Mary A. (Westerviller) Simonton and the late George Howard Simonton.

Peter was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved hunting and fishing. He also loved browsing flea markets.

Peter is survived by his mom, Mary; sons, Hunter (Alexa) Simonton of Amanda and Hastings Simonton of Nelsonville; sisters, Laurie (Carl) Holley of Nelsonville and Cynthia “Cindy” (John) Cox of Grove City; uncle, Mike Westerviller of New Lexington; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Peter was preceded in death by his dad, George; brother, George Howie Simonton; and uncle, Marion “Picky” Simonton.

A celebration of life service will be planned for a later date. Arrangements are with the Souers Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville.
