Robert J. Cassady II, passed away on April 17, 2026, after a courageous 14‑year battle with cancer. He was born on May 14, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio, and lived his life with quiet strength, kindness, humor, and a deep love for his family.
Bob dedicated much of his life to teaching and coaching. He was a woodshop teacher at Circleville, Berne Union, and Licking Valley. He also shared his passion for athletics as a wrestling coach at Logan and Circleville, and a football coach at Berne Union, Logan, and Bloom‑Carroll. He was a lifelong Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan.
Bob was a devoted father and a proud grandpa who cherished time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Loryn Cassady, whom he carried in his heart every day.
He is survived by his children: Robert “Bobby” (Ann) Cassady; Kristen (Kyle) Wood; Ryan Cassady; Kyle Cassady (fiancé Paige Lunsford); and Heather Cassady (Brandon Ebright). Bob was a loving grandfather to Laikyn, Jenna, Abigail, and Luke Cassady, and Emma and Eli Wood.
Bob is also survived by his girlfriend, Kathy Mara, who brought him companionship, care, and love.
He was the son of the late Mary E. Cassady and Robert J. Cassady I, and a beloved brother to Kathleen Tibbs; George H. (Connie) Cassady; Jennifer (David) Inboden; Matt (Angelina) Cassady; and Tim (Alison) Cassady. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Harry Tibbs. Bob was a caring uncle who stayed closely connected to family.
Bob was known for his generous heart and his willingness to help anyone, anytime. He loved fishing, being outdoors, and had a deep love for animals, always treating them with gentleness and care. Even through illness and loss, he never complained.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 24, 2026, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 351 N. Market St, Logan. Interment will be in the Inboden Family Cemetery, Logan. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Bob to the Loryn Cassady Scholarship Fund, LHS, 144470 St. Rt. 328, Logan, Ohio 43138.
