Robert Joseph “R.J.” Michael Howard, 2 months, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Nationwide Children's Hospital, Columbus. He was born on June 17, 2026, in Columbus, the son of Robert Aaron Howard and Dorothy Gerard-Stepp.

R.J. loved the sound of Harley Davidson motorcycles.

R.J. is survived by his parents; sister, McKaila Runyon; grandparents, Mike and Trish Funkhouser, Judy O’Donnell, and Liz Brannon; great grandfather, Dick Funkhouser; and many aunts and uncles.

R.J. was preceded in death by his sister, Delilah-Jean; cousins, Charlie and Levi; and great grandparents, Dorothy and Jo Gerard and Jean Funkhouser.

“That boy lived a perfect life. We’re the only ones who know it was brief. All he knew was you. And that you loved him."

A celebration of R.J.’s life will be held at the AMVETS Post 1985, 700 S. Maple St, Lancaster, from 12 pm until 12 am on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Arrangements are with the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan.
