Ruby Elizabeth Blackston

Ruby Elizabeth Blackston, 91, of Logan, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, with her family by her side, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan. Ruby was born on July 30, 1934, in Webb Summit, Ohio, daughter of the late Rueben D. and Gladys E. (Aurand) Friley. She was the widow of the late Harold Blackston.

Ruby was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She always made sure others were taken care of before herself. Ruby also loved to make quilts, blankets, and pillows for all of her family and friends.

Ruby is survived by her son, Terry Blackstone; grandchildren, Tyler (Heather) Blackstone, Nick Blackstone, and Ashley Blackstone; great grandchildren, Alissa, Abigail, Reagan, and Miles; sister, Shirley Proctor; special friends, Debby and Mark Mahaffey, Diane and Ernie Holcomb, Karolyn and Ed Lawrence; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Gladys; husband, Harold; and siblings, Art, Gerald, Molly, Dorothy, Helen, Velma, Jennie, Henry, and Naomi.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan, with Rev. Charles Fidler officiating. Interment will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Logan. Family and friends may visit from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
