Sharon Kay Stone, 71, of Albany, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus. She was born January 1, 1955, in McArthur, Ohio, daughter of the late Harold Eugene and Redith Edna Perry DePue. Sharon was married to Melvin Stone, who survives.
She was a member of Black Oak Church in Albany. Sharon had a heart of gold who was always there for anyone in need and enjoyed attending yard sales with her husband, Melvin and her flowers.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Paul) Weaver of Albany, Pam (Scott) Funk of Wilkesville and Melina Stone of Jackson; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Darlene Stacey and Beulah (Larry) Carpenter and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Melvin Wesley Stone; granddaughter, Sharon Tracy Daugherty; sister, Debbie Johnson and brothers, Keith, Dennis, Ronnie, and Marvin DePue.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2026, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Aaron Conley officiating. Interment will be in Bean Hill Cemetery, Albany. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 11 a.m. until the time on service.
