Sherrie Faye DeLong, 62, of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at McNaughten Pointe in Columbus. Sherrie was born on October 6, 1963, in Columbus, the only daughter of Marjorie (Guess) Jarrell and Bill Jarrell. She was married to the late Rick DeLong.
Sherrie was a good Christian girl and loved to read and talk about the Bible. She had a voice like a songbird, enjoying both singing and listening to music, and she loved to dance. Sherrie liked to spend time outside, especially going to parks where Margie would frequently treat her to ice cream when they went together. Sherrie was a shining light to all who knew her and she will be missed deeply by many.
Sherrie is survived by her parents, Margie and Bill; cousins, Bobby Joe (Brandy) McGlothlin, Bruce “B.J.” (Heather) McGlothlin, Brian Barlow, Ashley Arter, Karenda (Dave) Arnett, Jack Guess, Mary Guess, and Tammy Guess; aunts and uncles, June, Lorene (Steve), and Joan Jarrell; and friends, Kelly and Chris Patton and their family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edna and Otto Frederick Sherwood; and aunts and uncles, Dorothy (Ronald) Hewlett, Ralph Guess, and Johnny Jarrell.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan with Rev. John Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery, Logan. Family and friends may visit from 12 to 1 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
