Steven Randall Herron, 73, of Logan, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital. He was born on February 16, 1953, in Logan, the son of the late Luther S. and Anna Jane (Bell) Herron. Steve was married to the late Anita L. (Barnhart) Herron.
Steve graduated from Logan High School. He worked many years as an auto mechanic. He loved working on anything with an engine and riding his motorcycle. He also loved animals and fishing. Steve was a member of the Logan Moose 873 and the Logan Eagles 2168. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and companion. Steve always put others first and was happy to help anyone in the community with engine repairs or anything else he could do. Steve will continue to help others as an organ and tissue donor.
Steve is survived by his daughters, Misty (Andy) Kelley of Laurelville and Candy (Billy) Jernagan of Logan; significant other, Carla Ogg of Logan; bonus son, Ryan (Haley) Ogg of Springfield; grandchildren, Cheyenne Jernagan, Joseph Jernagan, Tyler Jernagan, Micah Kelley, Brady Kelley, Tempest Grubb, Gregory Grubb III, Milo Ogg, and Finnley Ogg; brothers, Jim (Kim) Herron of Logan and Scott (Polly) Herron of Logan; and sister, Christy (Roger) Sayre of New Jersey.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Anna Jane; wife, Anita; daughter, Alice Grubb; and sons, Steven Herron, Kacey Herron, and Luther Herron.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be announced. Arrangements are with the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan.
Donations can be made in Steve’s memory to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
