Victoria "Vicky" J. Carver

Victoria “Vicky” J. Carver, 81, of McArthur, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at her residence. She was born August 14, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Dorothy E. Miller McCarty. Vicky was the widow of the late Larry E. Carver Sr.

Vicky’s heart overflowed with love for her family, and she treasured every precious moment spent with her children and grandchildren, who were her greatest pride and joy. Warm-hearted and full of spirited fun, she delighted in trips to the casino and cherished the laughter shared around the table during card games, especially Skip-Bo, where her playful warning that you better not beat her brought endless smiles to those she loved. Her gentle spirit also shone through in her love for nature, finding deep peace and happiness in planting flowers with her own hands and watching them blossom into breathtaking beauty, leaving the world a little brighter just like she did.

She is survived by her sons, Raymond Cusack Jr. of Marysville, Larry (Sherry) Carver Jr. of Amanda and Christopher (Cassie) Carver of McArthur; daughters, Laurie (Richard) Bridgers of North Carolina, Brenda (Richard) Raymond of Ashville, Ohio, Pam (Dave) Barton of North Carolina and Fraces Pate of North Carolina; daughter-in-law, Carol Cuasck of Marysville; seventeen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers, Larry McCarty of Columbus and Loren (Sandy) McCarty of Columbus; sister, Delores Johnson of Columbus and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Vicky was preceded in death by her brother, Robert McCarty; sisters, Etta Wolfe and Pauline Braden and sister-in-law, Almeda McCarty.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2026, at Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Jesse Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, McArthur. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Victoria J. Carver to the Vinton County Cancer Research Group, 410 McArthur Ave., McArthur, Ohio 45651.
