Wendell Dale “Wild Dog” Miller, age 70, of McArthur, Ohio, passed away on July 27, 2025.
Born on July 16, 1955, in Marion, Ohio, Wendell was the beloved son of Raymond and Donna Miller and was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Carl and Rhoda Miller.
A proud former Marine, Wendell lived a life marked by strength, devotion, and a deep love for his family and faith. He loved Jesus, had a passion for karate, was never far from his treasured Mustang, and enjoyed watching old western movies. Known affectionately by many as “Wild Dog Miller,” he will be remembered for his strong spirit, sense of humor, and unmistakable presence.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Miller; his children, Joseph (Leslie) Miller, Mark Miller, and Angie (Joe) DeWeese; his daughter-in-law, Lora Miller; his grandchildren, Tristen Miller, Ryan Miller, Alexis Miller, Jessica Miller, Christian Miller, Christina Alvarez, Hope Disbennet, Jacob Miller, Amber Roaden, Ashley Moore, and Aimee DeWeese; and six great-grandchildren.
Wendell and his beloved son, Philip Miller, passed away together in a tragic automobile accident. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Wayne, Mike, and Fred Miller, and his sister Connie Chick. His memory will be cherished by his sisters Sue, Ann, and Sandra, and by all who knew and loved him.
Wendell’s legacy lives on through the love he gave, the strength he shared, and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the Calvary Assembly of God, 63849, US-50, McArthur, Ohio, with his son, Joseph Miller officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Vinton County, with military graveside services being conducted by the United States Marine Corps. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, at the Calvary Assembly of God from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
